Miriam Simsa

Miriam Simsa heads the restructuring and insolvency practice. She specialises in insolvency law with a focus on out-of-court restructurings, distressed M&A, and other restructuring driven transactions in Austria and CEE. Miriam is frequently involved in structuring M&A and finance transactions involving a distressed party, with an aim to mitigate risks in potential insolvency proceedings. Her background in M&A and work in the firm's finance practice group, together with her extensive experience with restructurings, provide an exceptional basis for advising on distressed transactions. Apart from advising on transactions, she regularly advises on the management of financially distressed companies, steering them through complex situations while avoiding management liability. Additionally, Miriam has a strong focus on financial and balance sheet restructurings, helping companies to navigate financial crises, whilst taking into account tax implications.
