Overview:

  • Global solutions banking technology provider Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) has completed its $9.1 billion acquisition of financial software company SunGard.
  • SunGard was sold by a consortium of seven private equity firms - led by Silver Lake Partners - who had bought SunGard for $11.3 billion in 2005. 
  • Prior to the acquisition SunGard had been planning on making an IPO, which will no longer be going forward.
  • The price tag includes existing SunGard debt.
