Digital Colony Partners/EQT Partners $8.2 billion acquisition of Zayo Group

Overview:

• Investment firms Digital Colony Partners and EQT Partners have acquired communications infrastructure company Zayo Group in an $8.2 billion deal. 
• In addition to the $8.2 billion acquisition price, the firms are taking on Zayo Group's $5.9 billion in debt. 
• Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank acted as financial advisers for Digital Colony and EQT and Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan advised Zayo. 
• The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2020.
