Paul Hastings has expanded its structured finance and securitisation team in London with a new partner hire.

Paul Severs joins the team from Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), where he had headed up the structured debt and capital markets teams. He has also worked at Clifford Chance in the past.

He focuses on securitisation work advising on ABS and mortgage backed transactions. In addition he is active on fund formation, loan origination, portoflio M&A and acquisition finance.

Paul Hastings has been gradually bulking up its London practice in a range of areas over the past 12 months including the additions of leveraged finance partner Luke McDougall from Ashurst; private funds partner Duncan Woollard from King & Wood Mallesons; and the hire of high yield specialist Peter Schwartz who joined from Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy.

The firm also added regulatory lawyers Ben Regnard-Weinrabe and Ashley Winton from Hogan Lovells and White & Case respectively.
