Nassau, 18 February, 2016  - McKinney Bancroft & Hughes announces the appointment of a new partner Justine A. Smith

Justine joined McKinney, Bancroft & Hughes in 2006 as an associate in the firm's litigation department. She frequently appears before the court on a wide range of matters including cross border disputes, liquidations, employment, matrimonial and child custody disputes and adoptions. Justine is highly skilled in providing premium service in the delivery of all legal services. Justine is highly skilled in achieving smart solutions for clients and is committed to providing premium service in the delivery of all legal services.

Before embarking on her legal studies Justine obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from The University of Western Ontario in Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Reading in England and completed the Bar Vocational Course at BPP Law School in England. Justine also holds a Masters of Law Degree from the University of London. In 2005 she was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales as a member of The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, and then to The Bahamas Bar in September of that same year. She is also a member of the Bahamas Bar Association.

Justine has been called upon to address administrators and teachers of the Ministry of Education on the Child Protection Act and its impact on procedures for child care centres throughout The Bahamas and more recently was a guest speaker at the Workforce Readiness Program for unemployed women.

Justine is a proud member ofThe International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA} New Providence Chapter and The Zonta Club of New Providence.

Justine is married to Kimani Smith. They are the proud parents of their daughter, Kai.
