UK firm Olswang has established a non-exclusive association with Hong Kong law firm Haldanes.

The association’s stated aim is to increase both firms’ ability to win clients and service existing clients in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Especially in the media advisory, regulatory and transactional space, the collaboration will look to utilise the expertise of John McLellan and Michael Leow of Haldanes and Andrew Stott and Matt Pollins of Olswang Asia.

Paul Stevens, Olswang’s CEO, said of the development: "With Hong Kong and Singapore being the two most significant hubs for the provision of legal services in Asia, we see our association with Haldanes as a great opportunity to broaden our offering in the wider Asian market, which our clients have identified as a priority."

Singapore is Olswang’s only office outside Europe and the association has been made through that office, which is associated with local Singaporean firm Holborn Law.

Also in Singapore, the firm recently brought in corporate partner Toby Grainger from Ashurst in order to strengthen its cross-border transactional capabilities in Indonesia.
