Egyptian firm Ibrachy & Partners has added a new partner to its corporate M&A and capital markets team.

Ehab Taha, an IFLR1000 Rising star and founding partner of the firm Khodeir Nour & Taha, has joined the firm following his old firm's association with regional firm Al Tamimi in April 2015.

Taha has a wealth of experience advising on M&A transactions, focusing on acquisitions and divestments across a number of industry sectors, as well as capital markets deals, with an emphasis on large scale IPOs.

In a recent interview with IFLR1000, Taha cited the takeover as part of the reasoning behind the move, while explaining why his new firm was a better match for his own career aspirations: "The acquisition was good, being part of a regional firm (Al Tamimi) was definitely good. But I would say that I had better expectations.

"Ibrachy is one of the few local firms in Egypt [that is competitive] in terms of market share. The profile of the partners is perfect, it matches everything that I want to be part of in a business. Ibrachy himself has over 20 years of experience, we have Tarek Gadallah working in M&A and capital markets like myself, we have Tarek Al-gazzar in finance, we have Sara Hinton as well who is on the English register, she has a very good portfolio of clients and we have Mohamed Madkour working in dispute resolutions, who has just won one of the biggest arbitrations in Egypt."
