Mourant Ozannes has enhanced its Guernsey corporate practice with the addition of a new partner.

Caroline Chan (an IFLR1000 Leading lawyer) is set to join the team from Ogier in November. She focuses on corporate M&A, capital markets and investment funds and is qualified in England and Wales, Guernsey and Hong Kong, the latter as a result of having spent time in Allen & Overy's Hong Kong office in the 1990s.

Her most recent work saw her act for Friends Life Group on a scheme of arrangement related to to the insurer's takeover by Aviva.

The move comes shortly after the firm made a similar significant addition on Jersey, when it hired Ogier's head of funds Tim Morgan to its already substantial team.
