Olumide Akpata is a Partner and the Head of the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group at Templars. With almost three decades of experience advising clients on various aspects of Nigerian Corporate and Commercial Law, he regularly advises local and international corporations on marketing leading transactions including cross-border transactions in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. His experience spans several core areas of commercial law and practice including mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance, corporate restructuring, employment, immigration, governance and anti-corruption, regulatory compliance and tax.

He is often called upon to speak at local and international conferences and seminars. He is the erstwhile Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law and remains an active member of the International Bar Association. 

He was most recently nominated as a pioneer member of the steering group of the United Nations Nigerian Humanitarian Fund – Private Sector Initiative alongside other leaders of the Nigerian business community.
