  • Sherif worked as part of ASAR’s team advising on the Bahrain law aspects of a USD 693 million sale involving multiple Bahraini closed joint stock companies in the utilities sector, including the operator of a major power station. The team advised on transaction structuring, regulatory approvals, competition law issues, and led on closing procedures. The matter involved complex multijurisdictional coordination and significant regulatory hurdles.

  • Sherif contributed to ASAR’s work for a consortium led by a private equity firm on its acquisition of a majority stake in a regional healthcare group. He assisted with identifying Bahraini regulatory requirements, preparing Bahrain-specific conditions precedent, and conducting due diligence on the Bahraini subsidiary. The transaction formed part of a wider USD 1.7 billion restructuring across the GCC and India.

  • Sherif was involved in advising on the restructuring of a regional distribution arrangement, including the acquisition of a minority stake in a Bahraini company. He supported the review of key transaction documents, amendments to constitutive documents, and coordination of local approvals. The matter required aligning governance structures with shareholder protections under Bahraini law and was implemented across multiple GCC jurisdictions.

  • Sherif also worked on ASAR’s team advising on the acquisition of a majority stake in a Bahraini private school. The transaction required navigating Bahrain’s education sector regulations, including approvals for foreign ownership and school licensing.
