Dr. Ingy Badawy is a Founding Partner of Zulficar and Partners Law Firm and Head of the Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Dr. Badawy is also an active member of the Firm’s Arbitration Group.

A practicing lawyer for more than twenty years, Dr. Badawy specializes in Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions and is recognized for her in depth experience in acquisitions and joint ventures, exceptional drafting and negotiations skills of all contracts necessary in any M&A transaction. Dr. Badawy is consistently recognized by clients and leading legal directories as a top tier leading lawyer, problem solver and a deal maker.

She played and continues to play a key role in major domestic, as well as cross border transactions, restructuring, acquisitions, IPO’s and private equity funding transactions handled by the Firm in various fields of activities including health care, education, energy, banking and finance, FMCG, food and beverages as well as various industrial sectors.

As Head of the practice group, she has over the years overseen the development of Zulficar and Partners Corporate, M&A Group, leading to its steady and rapid growth into one of the most reputable in Egypt, recognized for its expertise and quality of services.

  • Lead Partner acting as Egyptian counsel for Coca Cola HBC and its wholly owned subsidiary Coca Cola HBC Holdings BV in the acquisition of approximately 94.7% of Coca Cola Bottling Company of Egypt S.A.E from its major shareholders for an agreed combined purchase price of USD 427 million subject to certain adjustments.
  • Lead Partner that acted as Egyptian legal counsel to Bahrain’s Arab Banking Corporation in its acquisition from Blom Bank SAL of its entire shareholding stake in Blom Bank Egypt amounting to 99.4% for a purchase price amounting to approximately USD 425 million.
  • One of the lead partners that acted on behalf of EFG Hermes and the Sovereign Fund of Egypt in their landmark transaction of acquiring 76% of the Arab Investment Bank for a total amount of EGP 3.8 billion.
