Chukwuka Ikwuazom heads the Firm’s Taxation practice Partner and is a key member in the Firm’s Litigation and Arbitration practice.

He renders on-going tax advice to the Firm’s clients including those in the oil and gas sector. He has also represented the Firm’s clients in tax litigation before several courts in Nigeria.

  • successfully defended a leading aviation company in a multi-million Naira claim against the company for alleged under-deduction of Pay As You Earn Tax.
  • provided comprehensive tax advisory services to a number of oil producing and oil service companies, including: Brass Exploration Nigeria Limited, Korean National Oil Corporation, Schlumberger Overseas S.A., Schlumberger Oilfield Services Nigeria Limited, Petroleo Brasileiro Nigeria Limited, PWSH Nigeria Limited (a subsidiary of First Reserve Corporation).
  • advised on the Nigerian taxation aspects of the Candover led US$925 Million buyout of ABB’s oil, gas and petrochemicals upstream business by a private equity syndicate.
