An eye-catching mandate saw the firm advise
mm2 Asia on its renounceable rights issue. The rights issue was half underwritten by two prominent Singapore tycoons, who undertook to subscribe to excess rights shares not taken up by otherwise entitled shareholders, subject to a cap. This underwriting structure is rarely seen outside of REITs equity financing in Singapore.
On the restructuring and insolvency front, the team advised Hontop Energy (Singapore) in its $500 million debt restructuring. This is one of the major insolvency cases involving oil trading companies.
