Overview:

  • Canadian satellite technology company MacDonald Dettwiler has acquired US-based space imagery group DigitalGlobe in a C$4.7 billion deal.
  • C$1.6 billion of the price consists of DigitalGlobe's debt.
  • Macdonald Dettwiler will be listed on both the TSX and NYSE.
  • Bank of America, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal acted as financial advisers for MacDonald Dettwiler.
  • PJT Partners and Barclays were financial advisers for DigitalGlobe.
  • The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2017.
