  • Argos North Sea Group and Varo Energy, a  joint venture between The Carlyle Group and Vitol, have merged to form an independent oil company in North West Europe.
  • The new company is expected to produce 16 million cubic meters a year. 
  • The shareholders of Argos, Carlyle International Energy Partners and Vitol will hold equal stakes in the company.
