Alpha Bank €1.5 billion capital raising

Overview:

• Alpha Bank has successfully raised €1.5 billion through a share offer.
• JPMorgan, Citi and Barclays acted as co-lead managers.
• Alpha Bank was one of the four systemic banks that had to be recapitalised pursuant to the new European Stability Mechanism Porgramme and was asked by the authorities to complete an internal restructuring.
• The transaction involved negotiations with the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF).
• The deal was completed in parallel with Alpha Bank's bond exchange.
