Mediahuis €145.6 million acquisition of Independent News & Media

Overview:

• Belgian media group Mediahuis has agreed to acquire Ireland's biggest newspaper group Independent News & Media for €145.6 million.
• Mediahuis will acquire about 26% stake in the company from INM's largest shareholders Denis O'Brien and Dermont Desmond.
• The new stakes will add to Mediahauis's 1% stake in INM bringing the new figure to 27%.
• The takeover will give INM's shareholders 10.5 cents in cash for each of its shares.
