LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Mulenga Mundashi Legal Practitioners (“MMLP”) has appointed Mutinta Annel Zulu in a strategic move to deepen the firm’s capabilities in mining, energy and infrastructure law.
Mutinta brings over 10 years of experience advising on complex energy, mining, infrastructure and finance transactions. She holds deep expertise in mining, energy and real estate law, and is widely recognised for guiding clients through environmental and regulatory compliance matters. Her ability to advise both private sector stakeholders and public institutions has established her as a trusted legal partner across diverse industries.
The appointment comes at a time when Zambia’s mining and energy sectors are experiencing significant investor interest, driven by global demand for critical minerals and the country’s expanding energy infrastructure. The firm said the hire reflects its commitment to ensuring clients have access to senior-level, specialist legal counsel in these high-growth sectors.
Mutinta holds an LLB from the University of Zambia and an LLM in Environmental Law from the University of Cape Town. She is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia with audience before all the Superior Courts in Zambia and is an active member of the Law Association of Zambia.
The hire also advances the firm’s commitment to gender diversity within practice areas where female representation remains limited. Mining, energy and infrastructure have traditionally been male-dominated fields in both industry and legal practice, and the firm views Mutinta’s appointment as an important step in building a team that reflects the diversity of the clients and communities it serves.
“We are delighted to welcome Mutinta to the firm. Her appointment strengthens our ability to deliver specialist advisory services in mining, energy and infrastructure, sectors that are central to Zambia’s economic future. Mutinta’s track record in advising across these industries, combined with her expertise in environmental and regulatory compliance, makes her an invaluable addition to our team,” said Mulenga Chiteba, Managing Partner for MMLP.
MMLP is a Zambian law firm with recognised capabilities in corporate and commercial law, mining, energy, infrastructure, banking and finance, and dispute resolution.
