Standard Chartered Bank in-house counsel Stella Cramer joins Norton Rose Fulbright in Singapore as a technology and innovation partner. The move came to bolster the firm’s technology practice after increased demand.

“We’re seeing a great deal of growth in the technology market in South East Asia, which in turn means an increase in client demand for legal services,” Jeff Smith, Norton Rose Fulbright’s head of South East Asia says. “The team is incredibly busy working on a range of interesting transactions throughout the region, and Stella’s appointment will strengthen the team’s offering to meet that need.”

Cramer was the bank’s head of legal & compliance, and data technology & operations with a strong reputation developed in private practices in London, Hong Kong and the US.

The new appointee will cover areas including technology, communications, media and entertainment, in addition to business services and consumer markets with a focus on increasing opportunities in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar.
