King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has expanded its London banking team with the hire of a partner from Clifford Chance.

Lorraine Vaz is a leveraged and acquisition finance specialist who advisers lender side clients.

Recent work includes advising Lloyds, HSBC and GE Corporate Finance Bank on a £217.5 million senior loan to GTCR for the LBO of Callcredit; acting for Rabobank Intenratioanl and HSBC on a loan to the IMCD Group; and acting for ING on the provision of a €195 million facility to the IMCD Group.

There have been quite a number of changes in the London office of KWM in the past 12 months, including the departure of regulatory partner Gregg Beechey to Fried Frank, the move of private equity focused Richard Lever to Goodwin Procter and the loss of investment funds partner Duncan Woollard to Paul Hastings. There were also two departures from the corporate team with former department Steven Davis moving to Proskauer and Tim Wright moving to DLA Piper. The firm also relocated Tim Bednall, a corporate and capital markets client from Sydney to London.
