Boston headquartered private equity and fund focused firm Goodwin Proctor has continued its rapid expansion into the French market, taking a finance team from Shearman & Sterling.

Joining the ranks will be IFLR1000 Leading lawyer's Arnaud Fromion, and Frédéric Guilloux, who will both join at partner level, as well as counsel Adrien Paturaud and a team of associates. The team specialises in acquisition and corporate finance, focussing on lenders, borrowers and private equity firms across multiple sectors. The move is further evidence of the firm's willingness to strengthen its private equity capability in the country.

This is the latest in a string of lateral appointments for the firm, following the addition of a team of private equity focussed lawyers from King & Wood Mallesons in April. Making the switch from the troubled firm were Maxence Bloch, Christophe Digoy, Jérôme Jouhanneaud, Thomas Maitrejean, William Robert and Pierre-Louis Sévegrand, as well as a group of counsel and associates.
