DLA Piper has strengthened its corporate and banking and finance offerings in Bangkok with the hire of two new partners.

Samata Masagee joins the firm’s corporate practice from Weerawong Chinnavat & Partners, where she acted as a partner. She comes on board with more than a decade's experience in advising domestic and international clients on matters such as cross border M&As and restructurings in sectors including financial services, energy, agriculture, and technology and telecommunications.

Waranon Vanichprapa joins DLA Piper’s finance practice from Baker McKenzie, where he served as a partner since 2015. In addition to advising on banking and financing regulatory matters, his experience covers interbank lending, cross-border financing, structured financing, and debt restructuring.

Thailand managing partner Peter Shelford commented: “Southeast Asia is a major hub of economic growth and innovation, with Thailand being a key centre for projects and investments. The addition of Samata and Warren to our team is yet another demonstration of our commitment to appointing the best possible talent to meet client needs.”

Following the appointments of David Kuo, Philip Lee and Vincent Seah in Singapore, Masagee’s and Vanichprapa’s appointments mark DLA Piper’s fourth and fifth partner hires in the region in recent months.
