Dentons has agreed a merger with Ugandan law firm Kampala Associated Advocates.
The deal is part of the firm's Africa expansion strategy through its own network and combinations with local firms. It already has offices in Cairo, Morocco and South Africa.
Each firm plans to vote on the move shortly, and if approved the combined operation will launch in February 2018.
Dentons has expanded rapidly over the last year recently merging with Scottish firm Maclay Murray & Spens in July this year, which followed earlier expansions in Brazil, Georgia, the Netherlands and Peru.
