Dechert has further expanded its London M&A and private equity team with the addition of another partner from Kirkland & Ellis.

Christopher Field is focused on private equity work including advising on M&A, IPOs and reorganisations. He will be joined at Dechert by former Kirkland tax partner Jane Scobie.

Field's recent work includes advising the sellers on Informa's £1.18 billion acquisition of Penton Information Services, acting for various shareholders on Blackstone's €3.3 billion acquisition of OfficeFirst and advising Accel-KKR on its acquisition of Smart Communications.

Before joining Kirkland Field had worked at Slaughter and May.

Field joins former Kirkland colleagues John Markland and Rob Bradshaw at Dechert, with the finance partners having joined the firm in late 2016 and March 2017 respectively.

The move also follows other recent hires by the firm in London including those of regulatory partner Monica Gogna, private equity partner Ross Allardice from White & Case and banking partners Philip Butler and David Miles from DLA Piper.

The London office has picked up notable M&A work in 2017 including advising Chrysaor Holdings on its £3 billion acquisition of Shell's North Sea oil assets and acting for Mid Europa Partners on its €533 million acquisition of Profi Rom Food in Romania.
