Baker McKenzie has hired two new finance lawyers in its London office.
Matthew Cox joins the team from Ropes & Gray and is focused on banking and finance work, specifically leveraged financing. He has acted for the likes of Bain Capital, Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs.
Megan Schellinger joins from Linklaters and focuses on US capital markets matters, both debt and equity issues. She has acted for the likes of Rio Tinto, Türk Telekomünikasyon on bond issues, bpost on its IPO and Julius Baer Group on a rights issue.
The moves are the latest in a string of departures from Ropes in London in the past year including securitisation partner Chris McGarry who moved to White & Case, restructuring lawyer James Douglas who joined Linklaters, banking lawyers Mark Wesseldine and Fergus Wheeler who joined King & Spalding, funds lawyer Anand Damodaran who joined Kirkland & Ellis and regulatory lawyer Monica Gogna who joined Dechert.
Baker McKenzie for its part has been enhancing its London finance team recently hiring banking lawyers Geoff O'Dea and Matthew Smith from Freshfields and Travers Smith respectively in July 2017.
