A new boutique has been launched in Tanzania by a team of lawyers that until recently comprised ENS' local branch.

REX Advocates opened earlier this month after ENS closed its local branch.

ENS' decision was prompted by new regulation prohibiting foreign law firms from advising on work in certain key sectors, including mining and petrochemicals.

REX Advocates has six partners and a total of 25 lawyers. IFLR1000 Leading Lawyer, Alex Nguluma is the managing partner of the firm and the team is unchanged from its days as ENS.

The firm's core focuses are banking and finance, corporate and commercial, M&A, capital markets and securities, project finance and natural resources.
