Sidley Austin has bolstered its UK restructuring practice with the addition of a new partner.

Yen Sum joins the firm from Linklaters and specialises in restructurings, finance and M&A work.

She is dual qualified in Australia and England & Wales and previously worked at Allens and in house at Barclays Capital.

Recent work includes advising the anchor investors on the £2.8 billion restructuring of French clothing and footwear retailer Vivarte; acting for the coordinating committee of lenders on the £2.3 billion restructuring of hibu; and advising the co-ordinating committee of secured creditors on the €900 million debt and equity restructuring of Van Gansewinkel Groep.

The move is the latest in a series of hires made by the firm with the London office also adding Christian Iwasko, Erik Dahl, Fatema Orjela (private equity), Bryan Robson (banking), Jifree Cader (restructuring) and Sava Savov (corporate) from Kirkland & Ellis earlier in the year.
