Mayer Brown has enhanced its London private equity practice with the addition of a new partner from Reed Smith.

Perry Yam was head of Reed Smith's private equity practice across Europe and the Middle East. He advises on M&A, venture and development capital, secondaries and equity capital markets transactions. He is qualified in England and Wales.

His recent work includes advice to Sovereign Capital and Management on the secondary sale of City & County Healthcare to Graphite Capital and work for Aquila Capital on its acquisition of multiple UK wind farms.

Yam joined Reed Smith from legacy SJ Berwin in 2012.

In the past year Mayer Brown has also added asset finance specialist Alex Dell from DLA Piper and debt capital markets counsel Gary Silverman from Allen & Overy to its London office.
