Mayer Brown has enhanced its London debt capital markets practice with the addition of Gary Silverman as of counsel.

Silverman joins from Allen & Overy where he had focused on corporate trustee and agency servcies. He acts on bond offerings, MTN programmes, asset backed securities and securitisations.

Ashley Katz, joint head of restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency in London said of the move: "Gary’s extensive experience advising corporate trustees and agents not only in the transactional context, but also in the post-issue context, including in distressed and default scenarios, makes him a welcome additional resource for our Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Insolvency team."

The firm has focused recently on building its capital markets strength in London having hired equity capital markets partner Greg Stonefield (White & Case) and structured finance and securitisation specialists David O'Connor (Allen & Overy) and Richard Todd (Berwin Leighton Paisner) towards the end of 2013.
