French outfit Gide Loyrette Nouel has confirmed the takeover of the Paris branch of Spanish firm Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira. Gide is set to establish an Iberian desk in Paris that will serve those clients across Iberia and South America looking for counsel in France, as well as domestic clients looking to do business in these areas.

The incorporation sees Barcelona and Paris admitted Nuria Bové join Gide, along with three other lawyers. Bové has been managing partner at Cuatrecasas in Paris since its inception in 2004, after being raided from UGGC to head up the office as the firm sought to provide a focal point for French investors in Iberia.

The move follows the recent merger of offices between Gide and Cuatrecasas in Casablanca, an extension of a wider relationship between the two firms which also cohabitat offices in London, Brussels and Shanghai. Along with Italian market leaders Chiomenti, and German outfit Gleiss Lutz, the firms are establishing a strong European network that will allow clients an unparalleled service across the continent.

Gide this week announced the departure of two of its Eastern European outfits in Budapest and Kiev to French rival Jeantet.
