Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and Winston & Strawn have both opened new offices in Texas.

Gibson Dunn's Houston office features eight partners, while Winston's Dallas office is staffed by 23 partners, 21 of which have been brought over from eight different firms in lateral hires.

Seven of Winston's new partners come from Locke Lord, six are from Fish & Richardson, three from Jones Day, and one from Greenberg Traurig, Squire Patton Boggs, K&L Gates, and Miller Egan Molter & Nelson, respectively.

Among the most notable partner additions in Dallas are real estate investment trust specialist Bryan Goolsby from Locke Lord, former Norton Rose Fulbright head of business law Tom Hughes, and M&A lawyer Christina Tate from Greenberg Traurig.

Gibson Dunn hasn't yet announced which partners will head to Houston.
