African firm ENSafrica has secured the signature of a leading financial and corporate lawyer in Uganda. 

Phillip Karugaba joins the firm from MMAKS Advocates where he held the position of head of corporate advisory, with expertise in M&A, acquisition financing and capital markets for a variety of clients including funds, banks and development finance institutions.

Recent work highlights include assisting The Standard Bank of South Africa and Stanbic Bank Uganda in connection with a USh 240 billion finance facility extended to MTN Uganda.

ENSafrica entered Uganda in  2014 after merging with local firm Synergy solicitors. This is the firm's most prominent lateral hire since then.
