Dentons has enhanced its trade finance practice in London with the addition of a new partner.

Celia Gardiner joins from Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) where she worked within the broader structured finance practice. Prior to joining WFW in 2008 she had been at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Gardiner focuses on export and commodities finance acting for both borrower and lender side clients with a particualrly focus on emerging markets in Africa and Latin America. She also has experience acting on financial restructuring and insolvency matters.

Examples of her work include advice given to BNP Paribas on a $1.3 billion refined metals borrowing base facility and acting for Standard Chartered on a $325 million oil borrowing base facility provided to the Trafigura group.
