Victor I. Chang has over 20 years of extensive multi-jurisdiction transactional experience in mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”), private equity fund formations and cross border transactions of all types, frequently involving parties from the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, Taiwan and China. Mr. Chang has been recognized as a Leading Attorney in the areas of private equity and venture capital by Asia Law.
Prior to joining LCS in 2004, Mr. Chang was deputy general counsel of Trader Classified Media, N.V., a leading classified media company traded on the Paris Bourse and had also practiced for seven years in Boston with the firm of Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP.
Since 2003, Mr. Chang has represented numerous principals in the formation of private equity and hedge funds in the Greater China region, with aggregate LP commitments in excess of US$4.45 billion, and further advises most of his clients in connection with their domestic and international investments. Finally, Mr. Chang also represents many of the largest Taiwan financial institutions in connection with their overseas and local alternative investments activities.
In addition to law firm practice, Mr. Chang has advised government bodies and associations with policymaking in connection with investment management, diversification and related matters. Mr. Chang is a frequent guest lecturer at universities, accelerators and professional conferences in the subjects of private equity and M&A, and Mr. Chang is the editor of 科技公司的生涯, an in-depth training manual for young lawyers and start-up company entrepreneurs that has been used in law firms and start-up accelerators in Taiwan.
