Mr. Jatin Aneja heads the Projects & Infrastructure practise at Shardul Amarchand, which is a group of 7 partners and over 35 lawyers. He has extensive experience in Projects & Project Finance transactions in PPP, power, roads, ports, airports, railway, oil and gas & urban infrastructure in India and internationally (especially in the SAARC region). He recently advised on the sale by GSPC to ONGC of GSPC’s KG Basin assets, the largest sale of Indian Oil & Gas assets. Some of his major clients include Banks & Financial Institutions, Hines Group, CAF, Cube Highways, GMR, NTPC, ACME, GSPC, Indian Oil, Sun Group and ADB.

Jatin’s recent transaction experience includes advising on some of the largest and most complex acquisitions, financing and debt structuring transactions in the country. These include:

  • Advising consortium of lenders (led by State Bank of India) on the implementation of the corrective action plan for Bhushan Steel Limited;
  • Advised GSPC on the sale of GSPC’s KG Basin assets to ONGC;
  • Advising consortium of lenders (led by State Bank of India) on the implementation of the asset monetization plan for Jindal Stainless Limited; 
  • Advising consortium of lenders (led by State Bank of Patiala) on the implementation of the strategic debt restructuring of Monnet Ispat;
  • Advised ACME Solar on a structured debt investment of Rs. 500 crores by Piramal Enterprises and APG (Dutch pension fund); and
  • Advising Exim Bank on a proposed USD 1.6 billion loan to a power company in Bangladesh.
