Harald Stingl is a key corporate / M&A partner and has 25 years of experience in complex cross-border corporate, M&A, restructurings, distressed entities, joint ventures and private equity as well as corporate financing transactions.

He joined CERHA HEMPEL in June 2014 and was previously a partner at Wolf Theiss. He has advised a number of large corporate clients in cross-border acquisitions, investments and divestments as well as corporate restructurings and reorganisations.

He has been lecturing M&A, corporate and partnership law at the University of Vienna for many years, and has published on a broad range of corporate and M&A related subjects, amongst others on cross-border mergers, corporate succession and restructurings, due diligence, private equity as well as defence measures in takeover situations. Harald on top holds an LL.M. from Columbia University (NYC) where he earned Kent Scholar status reflecting the highest honor status then in place.

  • Co-advise (Lead: Clemens Hasenauer) of OMV as lead counsel in connection with the establishment of a USD 60+ billion global polyolefins group
  • Co-advise of the XXXLutz Group in relation to its acquisition of Conforama Iberia (Spain and Portugal) and co-advise of the XXXLutz Group in relation with the acquisition of the Porta Group in Germany.
  • Harald recently co-advised Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), a leading European growth investor, on its strategic investment in Springtime Technologies, a Vienna-based provider of AI-driven loan accounting automation software
  • Advise of Azerion (a listed Dutch group) in the acquisition of Goldbach Media Group in Austria
