David Walker

David Walker is a Partner in ASAR’s Corporate and Commercial practice in Bahrain, bringing over 20 years of regional experience advising local and international clients on complex corporate, commercial, and transactional matters.

David has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, including cross-border acquisitions and divestments, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. He regularly supports clients on transaction structuring, due diligence, and execution, as well as on regulatory and approval processes involving multiple authorities.

His practice focuses on regulated sectors, including energy and utilities, financial services, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and information and communication technology. He also frequently advises on agency, franchise, and distributorship arrangements, government contracting, tender processes, and direct foreign investment, helping clients navigate evolving regulatory frameworks across the region.

• Led Bahraini legal aspects of a regional divestment in the utilities sector, managing multiple regulated entities, regulatory approvals, and local closing requirements.
  
  
• Acted on Bahraini law matters for a regional financial sector acquisition, including local due diligence, regulatory structuring, and jurisdiction-specific conditions precedent.
  
  
• Oversaw the Bahrain legal elements of a regional joint venture in the events and exhibitions sector, advising on vendor-side due diligence, corporate restructuring, and regulatory approvals for the transfer of a locally licensed entity.
