Blaisie Paulsen is a partner at Byenkya, Kihika & Co. where she currently heads the firm’s Banking, Finance & Commercial department. She routinely represents multi-national lenders and borrowers in acquisition finance, syndicated, secured and unsecured financing, refinancing and debt restructuring of loans.

Infrastructure finance transaction highlights include the syndicated US$ 190 million financing to Umeme limited, Uganda’s largest electricity company mandated to operate, maintain, and expand the electricity distribution and retail network in Uganda; the US$ 181 million refinancing in relation to the Kenya-Uganda Railway project; and also representing the sponsors and the project company in a US$ 681 million financing availed by a syndicate of international lenders towards the development, construction and operation of the 255MW Bujagali Hydropower Project in Uganda.
Blaisie’s expertise extends to real estate and general commercial law. She routinely advises the firm’s corporate clients on tax compliance and regulatory matters. Clients consider her to be an exceptionally well-rounded commercial lawyer.
