Luisa Rivas has focused her practice in corporate, commercial, financial, energy law, contracts and mergers and acquisitions, advising national and international companies. Luisa has participated in several local and multi-jurisdictional legal transactions, advising different business groups in relation to their structure and acquisition, negotiation and execution of acquisitions, and corporate planning.
She has experience in structuring financing and advising several companies in regulated industries, including energy on matters related to contracts for the sale and supply of energy, maintenance of electrical installations, the energy market, and also advised from a regulatory perspective on the establishment and operation of electrical installations related with the generation and distribution of energy. She also advises the development of public infrastructure projects through traditional procedures such as public tenders and innovative commercial structures.

  • Advised Energía del Pacífico, Ltda. de C.V., (subsidiary of Invenergy Clean Power LLC) in the execution of the US$500 million Loan Agreement and local guarantees to operate a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) power generation project in El Salvador with a capacity of 378MW.
  • Advised Citibank N.A. as administrative and collateral agent under DIFL refinancing of $600 MM thru the issuance of bonds by DIFL, amendment to Credit Agreement and guarantees of bonds secured among others by local collaterals. Administrative and collateral agent
  • Rodio Swissboring El Salvador will carry out the specialized works for the completion of the El Chaparral (3 de Febrero) hydroelectric project which will provide clean energy. Arias successfully advised Rodio Swissboring El Salvador in the negotiation of this relevant construction contract with the governmental institution (CEL) and execution of the Construction Contract for $23,000,000.00
