Kirana Sastrawijaya - a Senior Partner of UMBRA, with more than 17 years of practical experience in the fields of power, energy, construction and infrastructure. She has represented major international and local clients in various high-profile power (having a combined capacity of more than 15,000 MW) and infrastructure deals (including railway, toll-road, airports, ports, hospitals, water). She has extensive experience in performing a complete cycle of power and infrastructure projects.

Kirana is also well versed in renewables, oil & gas, project financing, public-private partnership scheme, mergers & acquisition in the energy and natural resources sectors, state-owned enterprises, regional-owned enterprises and has built close relationship with government institutions and international and local NGOs for the preparation of relevant regulations related to power, energy and renewables in Indonesia.

In less than 5 years, she has successfully led the group to be one of the largest power, energy and infrastructure practice groups with a total of 27 members (including 3 partners and 1 off-counsel).   • Development and financing of Jawa 9-10 2x1000 MW Power Plant Project Financing, the largest project financing transaction in Indonesia in 2020 with a total project value of US$3.3 billion. This deal has been awarded as the “Project Finance Deal of the Year” in ALB Indonesia Law Awards 2021 and SE Asia Law Awards 2021, and Winner of APAC Deal Awards category Power by IJ Global Awards.
  • The acquisition of PT Mandau Cipta Tenaga Nusantara from Chevron group, a company which operates 300MW cogeneration facility to supply electricity to the Rokan Block (one of the largest and most productive oil blocks in Indonesia).
  • The development and financing of the Makassar – Parepare, Railway project - the first ever railway public private partnership project in Indonesia with a project value of around IDR 1 trillion, in which the financing involves conventional and Shari’a (Musharakah Mutanaqisah) facility agreements (2021).
  • The development of 145 MWac Cirata Floating PV in West Java, the largest solar floating PV projects in Indonesia (2020). This deal was awarded as “Asia Pacific Solar Deal of the Year” by Project Finance International (PFI) 2021.
  • The US$1.85 billion project financing for the Development of Jambaran – Tiung Biru Unitized Field Gas Project, one of the largest project financing transactions closed in 2019. This deal was awarded as “Islamic Finance Deal of the Year” by ALB SE Asia Law 2020, “Oil and Gas Deal of the Year” in the 2019 Project Finance International (PFI) Awards and “Deal of the Year” by 2019 Asian-mena Counsel Deals of the Year.
