Jana Essebier is specialised in financial services law, FinTech, blockchain, insolvency and restructuring, advice for Swiss and foreign financial market participants on regulatory matters and capital markets law, support of corporate clients on a broad range of compliance issues, including representation before the competent courts and authorities, extensive expertise in dealing with derivatives, structured products and other financial instruments and innovative product platforms, such as crowdfunding.

  • Successfully represented and defended the interests of the bankruptcy estate of the Switzerland based Lehman Brothers Finance AG in liquidation and its appointed liquidator PricewaterhouseCoopers AG in litigations initiated by the two single largest third-party creditors against the schedule of claims. The dispute concerned the determination of loss under a 1992 ISDA Master Agreement.
