Ghada El Gharib is a Counsel at Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie Cairo. Her practice focuses on banking and finance, major projects, and energy. She received her law degree from Cairo University's Faculty of Law in 2011 before receiving her degree in in Economics, Politics and Law from Dublin City University in 2008. She also received her BA with Honors - Law and Politics from Kingston University in 2009. She was admitted to the Egyptian Bar Association in 2012. 

  • Acted as a legal counsel to Rawasy, a new real estate joint venture established by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr, in connection with acquiring real estate assets in Talaat Moustafa Group’s (TMG) Madinaty compound for a purchase price of approximately EGP 9 billion. Additionally, Baker McKenzie Cairo supported Rawasy in entering into a long term Operation and Investment Agreement with TMG for the operation and investment of these assets on behalf of Rawasy.
  • Acted as a legal counsel for International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank group, as lenders on the financing package put in place to fund Pasabahce Egypt for Glass Manufacturing S.A.E., a subsidiary of the Sisecam Group and a leading glassware manufacturer. The financing package includes a long-term loan of USD 20 million and a short-term loan of the remaining USD 10 million.
  • Acted for AMEA Power in connection with the finance and development of a 500MW solar plant in Aswan and a 500MW wind farm in Gulf of Suez on BOT basis.
