Eduardo brings more than 20 years of experience to a broad range of legal disciplines. He represents a large number of local and transnational companies in an array of day-to-day issues. He is highly active in mergers and acquisitions as well as in private equity issues. His Telecommunications, Media & Technology experience includes regulatory matters, acquisition of assets, media and assets funding, and sectorial disputes. In Banking & Finance he represented foreign banks in the region as well as the underwriters of sovereign bonds issued by the Costa Rican government in international markets.

  • BLP advised the Millicom in the acquisition of several cable operations in Costa Rica and the divestiture of a tower company in El Salvador. The transactions involved the divestiture of essential facilities and approvals from the Regulator.
  • BLP advised Accenture (NYSE: ACN) in its acquisition of Search Technologies, a Herndon, Virginia-based technology services firm specializing in the design, implementation and management of big data and search analytics. The global transaction incorporates the nearly 200 big data engineers and search experts from Search Technologies in the United States, Costa Rica, Europe and the Philippines into the existing community of data scientists and engineers within Accenture Analytics
  • BLP advised UBER: UBER has started operations in Costa Rica in the context of great regulatory and political upheaval by the taxi and transport industry. The matter has been the subject of political controversy, with even the President being active on the subject. 
  • Represented Nord Anglia Education in the acquisition of a top tier k-9 School in Costa Rica and Nord Anglia’s incursion in the Central American region.
