Costas Stamatiou

Costas has extensive experience in corporate, commercial, finance and shipping transactions and associated litigation. He is a member of the shipping committee of the Cyprus Bar Association and also acts as a visiting lecturer at a local university. He is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

• Advising banks and financial institutions on finance, debt restructuring and securitisation
• Advising on enforcement and insolvency proceedings including winding up applications, appointment of provisional liquidator, examinership and schemes of arrangement
• Advising on shareholder agreements and shareholder disputes
• Advising a major international bank on the debt restructuring of a large Cyprus-based ship owner and operator
• Acting for a bidder in the privatization of the port of Limassol
• Undertaking multi-million debt recovery and ship arrest proceedings on behalf of creditors
• Acting as local counsel of the Cyprus arm of a global container and logistics conglomerate
