Coleen is an Associate in the Corporate Advisory Department with 5 years’ experience and specialises in corporate and commercial law, employment law and data protection and privacy law.

She has been a part of many transactions involving advising clients on employment related matters, preparation of schemes of arrangement, reviewing legislation for regulatory and compliance purposes on behalf of local and foreign entities, as well as advising clients on the setting up and closing of companies. She also has widespread experience in the preparation of contracts and agreements, including employment contracts, services agreements, agency agreements and company-related documents such as shareholder and board resolutions.

Coleen has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Cape Town, an LLB from Brunel University in London and an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary, University of London. She is also a member of the Law Association of Zambia and an Advocate of the Superior Courts for Zambia.

  • Advised Olam International Limited on the 100% acquisition of Northern Coffee Corporation Limited, which involved the transfer of the shares held in Northern Coffee Corporation Limited to two newly created subsidiaries of Olam International Ltd. This transaction was part of a wider group restructuring of the Olam Group of companies.
  • Advised Capital Drilling Zambia Limited on the options available with respect to the winding up of its operations in Zambia.
  • Advised Madison Asset Management Company Limited on the ZMW 248,476,599.20 debt owed to its creditors resulting from major financial losses due to a mismatch between its current assets and current liabilities.
  • Advised Chartered Institute of Management Accountants on the restructuring of its operations in Zambia
  • Advised UpGrad Education Private Limited on the legal implications and impact on UNICAF Zambia with respect to the acquisition of UNICAF (Cyprus).
