Benny Bernarto is a corporate and commercial lawyer based in Jakarta. His extensive corporate practice includes advising on complex merger and acquisitions in the energy, technology and innovation, healthcare and real estate sectors.

Benny is also noted for his specialist experience in energy, infrastructure and the related project financing. He is recognized as a Leading Lawyer - Highly Regarded in IFLR1000 2022 for energy, oil & gas, and mining.

• Acted as the legal counsel of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk in respect of cooperation with Chinese investor for the development of EV Battery Project. The project includes 6 separate upstream to downstream EV battery development projects from nickel mining, RKEF and smelting facilities, battery production and battery recycling.
• Assisted BASF Indonesia and Eramet SA in respect of its nickel refinery project
• Assisted Energy Earth in restructuring of its business in Indonesia to improve the company performance. This was a considerably complex deal involving a number of parties from multiple jurisdictions.
• Advised Shell on the acquisition and the development of its Solar PV projects in Indonesia and other regions in Asia
• Advised Maersk Hong Kong Limited in relation to joint venture on the depot business
• Advised Macquarie with respect to Solar PV projects in Indonesia involving installation of Solar PV captive Power Plant in a commercial building
