Financial and corporate
Husch Blackwell

Husch Blackwell is a versatile firm that continues to be a leader in the middle and upper mid-markets spaces. Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, the firm is a regional leader in the Midwest, where it’s best known. However, the firm’s capabilities extend far beyond the middle of the country; Husch Blackwell also has offices in Austin, Texas, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Phoenix, Sacramento, California and Washington DC.

In addition to its Kansas City headquarters, Husch Blackwell has offices Jefferson City and St Louis, Missouri. The firm’s M&A, restructuring, capital markets and banking practices all rank among the best that can be found in the Show-Me State.

The technology, real estate, utilities and agribusiness sectors comprised important sources of work for the firm over the research period. In one highlight from the aviation sector, the firm guided American Airlines on its $18 billion acquisition of 47 aircrafts from Boeing.

One of the firm’s most notable recent real estate deals came in connection with the development of a 121 mile system of greenways in St Louis. Husch Blackwell advised public agency the Great Rivers Greenway District on the deal.

“I couldn't ask for more from a service provider. Dave's interests are perfectly aligned with those of our company.”

Originally founded in Kansas City, Polsinelli is now a dominant middle-market player across the country, with other locations in main market hubs such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and more offices in fast-growing cities like Nashville, Denver and Atlanta. The firm has continued to expand its national footprint outward from Missouri, opening a Miami office in February 2019.

With two offices and historical roots in Missouri, it’s no surprise that Polsinelli is one of the top firms for M&A and restructuring found in the state.

The Missouri-based restructuring teams at Polsinelli handled cases in a number of industries, perhaps none more notable than healthcare. In one significant case, the firm represented rural healthcare company Curae Health on its Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

In a significant case from outside of the healthcare sector, the firm represented Costco Wholesale in connection with bankruptcy cases connected to four of its vendors.
