AKL

Athens based firm Alexiou-Kosmopoulos Law Firm (AKL) was established in 1981.

Highlights

AKL advised Eurobank, Piraeus Bank, Alpha Bank, and Attika Bank as lenders and MLAs on the Hellinikon Malls project. The project involved a EUR101 million bridge facility signed in December 2024 to refinance existing debts.

The firm was also supporting long-standing client Lamda Development on various other aspects of the EUR7 billion Hellinikon project. In 2024, the transaction between the Hellenic Republic, HRDF and Lamda Development was concluded, and the development of some of the first-planned projects, such as the experience park and the experience center, were licensed.

On the same project, the firm led the third phase of the licensing procedure, which included amending the existing presidential decree and joint ministerial decisions.

Bahas Gramatidis & Partners

Highlights

Bahas Gramatidis & Partners (BGP) advised Pancreta Bank in the acquisition of HSBC Bank's network in Greece. The USD106 million transaction involved the transfer of all assets and liabilities, the integration of 350 HSBC employees, and the absorption of HSBC's 15-branch network across Greece. The deal closed in January 2024.

The firm was advising Helloworld Travel on the transfer of certain software assets from the Excite Holidays Group. The transaction involved intricate legal considerations under Greek law, particularly regarding the transfer of intangible assets such as software. The deal was ongoing in 2025.

BGP also handled the execution of all contracts with third-party contractors for EYDAP, the largest water supply, sewerage, and wastewater treatment company in Greece, throughout the Attica region for 2025. A team also advised Hellenic Casino Parnitha on the relocation of Casino Mont Parnes from its current mountaintop location to an urban site. KLC Law Firm

KLC Law Firm was established in 2000 in Athens through the merger of three law firms.

Highlights

KLC acted as lender's legal advisor to National Bank of Greece (acting for itself and for and on behalf the Hellenic Republic) in respect to the first project financing of a 50 MW battery storage project developed by a local subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric. KLC conducted the due diligence, negotiated and drafted the finance documents, and assisted the lenders in the financial close, which took place in January 2025. The EUR34 million deal also involved English, Egyptian and Cypriot law.

The firm acted as legal advisor to the 100% shareholder of insurer Europe Asfalistiki, in a transaction which combined the sale of its entire share capital to Intracom Group and the acquisition of a 10-15% stake in Europe Asfalistiki’s new Athens Stock Exchange-listed parent company.

The transaction entailed a multi-step restructuring, involving stakeholders such as the Bank of Greece and the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission. The MoU was signed in January, binding SPA signed in October 2024 and closing is expected within 2025.

A team also advised Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) on the Corfu Mega-yacht Marina sub-concession and Philippos B port sub-concession. The former, signed in October 2024, involved the construction, operation, management, maintenance, and exploitation of the Corfu Tourist Port by a subsidiary SPV of Lamda Development. The latter concession, signed in January 2025, pertained to the sub-concession of Philippos B port, part of the greater Kavala port, by a subsidiary SPV of Terna. KLC handled complex public procurement and administrative law issues, including pre-contractual audits by the Court of Auditors.

Specifically, KG represented AON Delta Netherlands in its acquisition of 100% shareholding ownership in AON Greece from three individuals and Bacon & Woodrow Partnerships Limited. The deal closed in November 2024.

KG advised EQT Infrastructure IV Investments on its public offer to acquire a stake in OX2, an international developer of renewable energy projects. The Greek portfolio included PV and wind projects with a total installed capacity of 738 MW.
