Research period review: 30th edition (2019/2020)

During the research period the firm was active across the areas of banking and finance, M&A and restructuring and insolvency.

The firm’s recent lending and borrowing highlights mostly came in two sectors of focus for its banking and finance practice. The team was primarily engaged in real estate/property finance for acquisitions and development, and on financings for healthcare providers or hospital developments. It had a mix of borrower and lender side work.

In M&A the firm's recent deal highlights tended to involve private equity. It worked on a number of deals where the buyers or sellers were financial sponsors - often cross-border - working on the side of funds or their portfolio companies on a number of deals but also doing work for management on acquisitions or investments.

The firm’s recent restructuring and insolvency work has been varied. It advised a banking client as a creditor in a case, worked for funds on their involvement as investors in businesses in restructurings, and assisted a healthcare client involved in a restructuring.

A recent staffing change saw partner and leading fintech specialist Arno Voerman leave to join Dentons.
