Highlights
Ogier has a leading presence in Guernsey, where the office regularly supports a range of corporate finance activities, from private equity, M&A and banking and finance, to restructurings, investment funds and private investments.
Recent highlights include advising the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), alongside Lloyd’s Disaster Risk Facility, Aon and the Centre for Disaster Protection, on the development of a new risk transfer mechanism to backstop the IFRC’s Disaster Response Emergency Fund. The role reflects Ogier’s engagement in bespoke and specialised areas of finance.
The firm has been advising Munich Re with the insurance and reinsurance of longevity risk for beneficiaries protected under the Sedgwick Section of the MMC UK Pension Fund, which manages £2 billion in liabilities for an estimated 14,500 pensioners.
Ogier also represents many financial services institutions operating across real estate, private equity, fund management, fund ventures and banking. In a notable example, the firm advised HSBC Global Asset Management on the establishment of its Private Equity Opportunities III fund.
